I live in Wychwood and was actually looking for the hours to the the library so I could grab some books on Gardening (I just came back from Canada Blooms and am desparate for some soil) and I stumbled upon your site. Great reading !!!

I love the photos of the Brugmansia and will have to research this, never heard of it….you grow this in your Aylmer Garden? Amazing – is it shade? It looks like the location may have a fair bit of shade. I imagine it’s an annual here? It looks very tropical.

I’ve been desparate for a Garden club to meet some fellow gardeners here in Aylmer – Are you familiar with any? My french is very basic but it if that’s all there is for garden clubs, it will force me to expand.

I’m on my way to check out your Baker Creek link…what a pleasure to run across your site this morning.

    Enjoy the sun !

Thanks for the nice comments, Andrea.
Lucky you, going to Canada Blooms! That would definitely make you feel like gardening!
Brugs are tender perennials, native to South America. I overwinter them indoors, then lug them out for the summer. Most of them stay in large pots, but I am experimenting with planting them in ground for the summer, and digging them out in the fall. Most of them prefer full sun.
I usually have an annual spring plant sale, mostly tomatoes, and brugs in late May if you’re interested. As for the gardening clubs, I’ve been looking for a community garden so I can expand my gardening area, and meet other gardeners, and haven’t turned up much except for the Food Bank garden. Maybe we need to form a gardening club for Aylmerites and push the city for more community gardens! I’m also in Wychwood, love this neighborhood.
    Sam.
