It’s one of those days. We’ve gotten so much snow and it is such a sleepy kind of day. Instead of getting up this morning, I stayed in bed and listened to the radio. Meg came in to snuggle with me, and we both eventually fell asleep again. I felt really lazy, but not overly guilty about it. Yes, I have a lot to do around the house – Monica is coming tomorrow, and depending on the weather, my parents are coming the next day. But I have been getting up around 6:30 am every day, getting the kids ready for school and making their lunches, working and riding, getting home and doing laundry and supper, helping with homework, with bathtime and bedtime, and by the time everyone is asleep, I am so tired that I want to cry. And I don’t have any energy left to do any of the things that I would like to do for myself. So today was a lazy me day.
Did some Christmas shopping yesterday. What a mad house. What is it about Christmas that brings out the pushiness and bitchiness of shoppers? And the parking space bullies. Twice, I was sitting there, signalling to pull in, and someone snuck in and took the spot that I was obviously waiting for. WTF??? People need to learn some manners!
Anyway, I’m still fighting a bloody cold, and feeling very stuffed up. So I’m going to turn in early with my Dexter book, and hopefully feel better tomorrow. I don’t have to get up as early for work because the kids are off school now, and Todd is home for the next two weeks!
One final note, we watched Jurassic Park last night, and Men In Black tonight. Which movie do you think the kids found scarier? Why, of course it was MIB. Huh? You may have just thought to yourself. A couple of silly men running around, fighting funny aliens are scarier than huge, roaring, lifelike, meat eating, intelligent dinosaurs?? But of course. As Emma explained, dinosaurs are extinct. They are not real, and the DNA cloning thing is not likely, at least, not yet. But they’ve found water on Mars, and the possibility of life, therefore of course Aliens are possible. Just because we haven’t met them yet does not mean they don’t exist. Man, my kid is brilliant! Todd got a real kick of that explanation. She really does listen intently when he talks about space exploration.
