Bye Bye Baby

Well, it’s time to say goodbye to the little ones, and Momma Stinky.  We are leaving this weekend, and I can’t ask the house sitter to take care of all of these cats.  Plus, Anya would like to have her house back.  I’m trying to find homes for them, although we might keep little Squirt.  (Todd’s favorite)  I love them all, and Emma’s favorite is little Cherry, the grey and white one.  She is going to be so sad, well, she already is, she knows they are going.

I have one person interested in the little orange guy, so hopefully that will work.  And my neighbor was possibly interested, I’ll have to try and talk to him tomorrow.

Well, the girls and I are off to the pool for a swim.  Have I mentioned how much I love that pool?

What’s in a name…

Is this not one of the cutest faces you’ve seen all day?  He doesn’t have a name yet, feel free with suggestions.  There are five little cuties, and they’re looking for homes now.  We are going to keep one, just depends on who is left!  They are all so darn cute, and such personality!

Anyway, just a cute pic for tonight.

We’ve finally joined the club…

The Minivan family club, that is! We bought our first minivan Monday night! We also recently bought a new fridge and stove. We are so middle class. Trashy, but middle class. Oh, and a new fence in the back yard. What can I say? We still compost, my tomatoes ( over 60 plants last count) are doing great, and I still buy all my clothes second hand. I still drink soya milk, and we try to eat salad every day. We just could not face another trip back to the Sault without the extra space. And the present Mercury Sable is starting to show its years. Just little things, but time to get rid of it. I just pray we can sell the darn thing.

Well, that’s it for the update for now. Soon, soon, I promise. Pics of kittens and everything. They are so cute. I wish I could keep them all. If anyone wants a kitten, let me know. In the next week or so, I need to find them homes.

Hockey fever has hit….

just a little too late for my team!  I am a die hard Habs fan, but when the city of my choice (Ottawa) is in the finals, then I become a fickle fan.  Go Sens Go!!!

I won’t pretend to be a hockey guru, but damn they are playing well.  Okay, were playing well.  Final series, against the Ducks, and they are now down 3-1.  Ducks win the next one, they win the cup.  Uh oh!  I watch, I surf, I can’t bear it when the score is too close so I change the channel and come back in a few minutes, hopeful.   My toes are crossed, Ottawa can taste victory, so close, and yet so far!  They’ve done so well this year, I can’t believe it’s almost over for them.  They can’t lose!  What the hell does Florida, or California, or wherever those stupid Disney ducks come from, care.  No matter most of their players are probably Canadians and Russians.  Anyway, say little prayer for the Sens.

Toms are doing incredibly well in the garden.  So far I’ve given away more plants than I’ve sold, which is probably really bad business practice, but otherwise I’d be throwing them out (composting, actually, but still…)  I need to advertise more, get the word out, but everything costs money.  I’ve already invested in the soil, in the seeds, the pots, etc…I can’t afford to spend more than I take in.  So far, I’ve broken even, if not made a little extra.  But in no way does it pay for my time and effort.  So I need to do some serious thinking for next year.

Well, kittens are almost ready to go to new homes.  So far, two are hopefully spoken for.   Leaves three, although Todd’s got a fave little girl, who might stay.  Momma’s gotta go to, unfortunately.   She is too defensive around the other cats, especially Anya, who has been my sweetie for more than 13 years, and doesn’t deserve that kind of treatment.  So that leaves Tye, Jing, Anya, and new kitten.  Tye and Jing are being super outdoorsey, as is Anya, so maybe four won’t be so bad!

Well, that’s it for the update for now.  Did bake a new batch of bread, turned out great, will post recipe soon.  Yummy white sandwich bread, with lots of hidden healthiness!  Surprise, surprise!

Booh!!!

Haven’t forgotten, just been really busy lately.  Promise to get writing soon.  Tomatoes are calling.
