This weather is absolutely nuts. Two days ago it was -10*C, today was +10. Can you say global warming?? But it did feel fantastic. Tomorrow is supposed to be beautiful too. Can’t wait. Think I’ll hook up the trailer and take Meg for a ride on the bike if it’s that nice.
Anyway, anyone want kittens? Stinky Patches is not just getting fat, I’m afraid. I’m kind of excited, I’ve never had a cat that had kittens before. And at least it’s not my fault she’s not fixed! Kittens are so beautiful!
Well, I promise to update for real very soon. Busy, busy, seeds and seedlings, cats and soon to be kittens, spring cleaning, etc…..

Little Little Stinky Patches came back. The very next day after I’d posted that she ran away, I opened the back door to call in any kitties for bedtime, and there she was. When I saw her in that driveway, she wouldn’t come to me, but I also couldn’t talk so she would not have been able to recognize my voice. But obviously she found her way back to the place where she remembered food, warmth, and nice people. So now we are back up to four cats. Anyone looking for a cat? It won’t be so bad in the summer, when they spend most of their time outside, but right now, it’s a bit crowded. And I have to vacuum everyday because Todd’s allergic to them! It’s kind of funny though, each cat has picked their room and their sleeping spot, so the fighting is minimal. But, honestly, I cannot keep four cats. But what else can I do? I convinced them to come in from the cold, so of course now they want to stay. Free room and board, right? I can’t just kick them out and say good luck!
Something else I wanted to clarify, about hybrids. I wasn’t as clear about it as I meant to be. As far as I get it, a hybrid is a specific cross between two parent plants, that will produce a specific ‘child’/fruit. Example, D x E = F. The seeds of F1 are classified as F2, or generation 1, and further seeds from that plant go on to F3, F4, etc. The hybrid child plant can produce fruit but they will not be F1’s. Hybrids don’t always produce seeds that will germinate, and they are not the same as the first generation. Clear as mud. But that is it for tonight. Stinky wants my attention, so gotta go!!!

Today was a very nice day, so I’ve decided to make it a holiday. For those in the know, Scanish is pretty cool. For those that aren’t, it means Scottish-Danish. Today I went for a bike ride (thank you Sarah for the hattie thing, very warm) and had fun puttering around the house, especially with my plants, while Meghan was at Jacob’s.
That husband of mine is starting to feel sick but not that sick, but, well, we won’t go there. You know men when they are sick! I’ve got laryngitis pretty bad, I can’t talk at all, just whisper, which everyone seems to think is pretty funny. But for all the negatives, been a good day. My girls are cudley ones who love me, my husband is a good guy, my bike works, and I still have three cute kitties (Stinky ran away, but I saw her yesterday in someones driveway so I know she’s still around). And I have tons of seeds just waiting to be planted. I am going to try to be a more positive person, looking for the good things in life, of which I have plenty. I’ve been getting into a rut lately, and I want to change that.
So happy Scanish New Year!!!!
